LTC’s ‘Sing Noel’ to present shows on Dec. 14, 15

Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Ill., will present its annual Holiday Festival of Music at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton and again at 3 p.m. Sunday in LTC’s Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

Themed “Sing Noel,” the concert celebrates the holiday season in its entirety with the Concert Choir performing a medley of classic favorites, including Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” the Hanukkah song “Light One Candle” and the classic Advent carol “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.”

Other highlights include performances of the Amy Grant hit “Breath of Heaven,” several African spiritual pieces and Felix Mendelssohn’s famous anthem “There Shall a Star from Jacob Come Forth.”

Rounding out the concert will be performances by the Statesmen Singers, LTC Children’s Choir and a newly formed small ensemble which will perform selections, including a cover of a cappella sensation Pentatonix’s “Carol of the Bells.”

The Concert Choir and Statesmen Singers are under the direction of Jeshua Franklin. The Children’s Choir is directed by Tara Gallion.

Admission Saturday is by freewill donation. General admission tickets for Sunday are $6 per adult and $4 for students and seniors.

Tickets and more information are available by calling the Performing Arts Office at 618-544-8657, ext. 1433. Tickets are also available at the door the evening of the concert.
