Rodney Carrington to perform two shows in Effingham today

EFFINGHAM, ILL. — Comedian Rodney Carrington is scheduled for perform his “Laughter’s Good” show twice today at Effingham Performance Center.

Performances are at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. His show is country comedy and song for mature audiences.

A comedian, actor and writer, Carrington has sold more than 2.2 million copies of seven comedy albums, with two of them being certified gold. He co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in 2008’s “Beer for My Horses” and also co-starred in Trace Adkins’ hit video, “I Got My Game On,” which won three 2008 CMT Music Video Awards, including Male Video of the Year and Video Director of the Year.

Carrington won Supporting Character of the Year for his role in Adkins’ video. In 2010, Rodney played to more than 200,000 fans across the United States of America and Canada.

The Carrington Family formed a Foundation last year to benefit those who need a helping hand — $2 from each ticket sold goes toward the foundation to provide support for its objectives. 

The presentation is sponsored by Koerner Distributor, Inc./Miller Lite and is part of the 2011-2012 Effingham Performance Center season sponsored by Midland States Bank.

Effingham Performance Center is operated by Arts Connection of Central Illinois, a not-for-profit organization that has been established by and for the citizens of Effingham County and beyond to showcase arts and entertainment, to encourage interaction with and appreciation of live performance, to endorse the educational process and to enhance the region’s quality of life.
