St. Louis —
Indiana State junior Anna Munn hit a jump shot just inside the 3-point line with 58 seconds remaining to lift the Sycamores to a 48-46 victory Thursday at Saint Louis University.
The Sycamores (4-2) picked up their first win away from Hulman Center this season behind 23 points from sophomore Racheal Mahan and 14 from Munn, who created a play late in the shot clock.
“We were trying to be aggressive and get the ball into Racheal,” Mahan said. “Anna made a tremendous play at the end [of the shot clock] to put it in.”
Indiana State led 28-21 at halftime, but the Sycamores offense was inconsistent in the second half. Saint Louis led much of the final 20 minutes.
But Mahan converted a big 3-point play to pull Indiana State within a point with 4:03 left. Mahan tied it at 46 a couple minutes later.
Taylor Whitley had seven assists and two steals.
“Every timeout we just kept saying we’re going to win this game. Give Saint Louis a lot of credit, they did a tremendous job tonight,” Moren said in a post-game radio interview.”
