TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State football coach Trent Miles announced the completion of his football staff on Wednesday as Mike Denbrock was named Associate Head Coach.
Miles and Denbrock have a long association. Denbrock has been the offensive line coach at the University of Washington for the last five seasons, having been on Tyrone Willingham’s staff there. Miles was hired from Willingham’s staff in 2007.
Like Miles, Denbrock has also worked under Willingham at Notre Dame and at Stanford. Denrbock also coached in the Arena Football League for two seasons, along with stints at Grand Valley State, Illinois State and Michigan State, where he got his start as part of George Perles’ staff.
“You get a coach of his caliber and you feel good about it. He’s well-respected around the nation and he’s a friend. That makes it fun for me to have him here,” Miles said.
• ISU football preseason – Miles said that ISU will report for preseason practice on Aug. 6 and will begin practice on Aug. 7. The Sycamores will practice straight through until their opening game against Quincy on Aug. 28.
In addition, the game time for ISU’s game at Louisville on Sept. 5 will be 7:30 p.m., according to Miles.
