Rose-Hulman releases basketball schedules

Rose-Hulman will play a total of 21 home basketball games between its men’s and women’s squads during the upcoming 2009-10 campaign.

The Engineers will host 11 men’s and 10 women’s home contests this season, including full slates of eight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference games.

In addition, the home schedules feature one traditional rivalry game for each squad. The women’s team will host St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in the annual Clabber Girl Trophy Game on Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m., while the men welcome in-state rival Earlham College for the John Mutchner Cup Game on Dec. 17 at 7:30.

Other non-conference men’s home games include matchups with Blackburn (Nov. 29) and Dominican (Jan. 6). On the women’s side, the Engineers host Webster University on December 9.

The schedule includes four home HCAC doubleheaders on Saturday afternoons. Matchups include Transylvania on Dec. 12, Mount St. Joseph on Jan. 16, Defiance on Jan. 23 and Manchester on Feb. 6. Admission to doubleheaders will admit fans to both games for the $5 cost of one ticket.

The men’s squad finished 9-16 overall last season, while the women compiled an 8-16 mark. Both squads will rely on extensive returning classes and a talented mix of newcomers in 2009-10.
