Support helped dance event raise $3,000 for charity

Thank you Terre Haute for opening your hearts to the first annual DawgHouse Dancing in the Streets. It was a huge success! With your help, we collected almost $3,000 to be split among Catholic Charities Food Bank, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, American Diabetic Association and the March of Dimes.

I would like to personally thank the following for inspiration and guidance to make this event possible: my mom and dad, Jack and Nancy Ross, for their love and support; Mayor Duke Bennett; the Board of Public Works for the approval to close Ninth Street from Oak to Poplar streets; The Tribune-Star for donation of ad space, especially Tanya Wilhoyte and Arthur Foulkes; Brett Gibson, owner of the Copper Bar and his attorney Larry for the proper motivation; all of the DawgHouse crew, especially Sarah Bolenbaugh for she is as honest as the day is long; Steve Harvey (Apollo) for his sincerity and professional input; attorneys Thomas Clary and Bob Wright for legal expertise; ISU Statesman; MixFM, especially Eric, Diva, Natalie, and Rebecca; WTHI television, Mark Allen, Patrece Dayton, Rod Garvin, Chris Watkins and Chris in technical (sorry I don’t know your last name); WTWO, especially Tom McClanahan for his generosity and sincere interest in the project; 105.5 The River, especially Doug; Terre Haute Street Department; Terre Haute Police Department; Indiana Excise Police; J Jet Leasing Inc., John Moffett; The devotion and love of my three children James, Anna and Austin; to Angie, the soul mate and love of my life; and lastly, but not least, to the band Pfreakshow for the donation of their time and the willingness to play in 38-degree temperatures and for those fans who braved this weather to “Dance in the Streets.”

I look forward to next year in a warmer climate with a full day of bands.
