News and Sports from Terre Haute, Indiana. Sports stories about the Indianapolis Colts.

Colts: Chris Polian will take over as team president when Bill Polian retires

It had been the subject of increased speculation over the last couple of years. Would the Indianapolis Colts try to find a way to keep Chris Polian as an integral part of the team’s front office operations? That topic was officially settled Friday when the Colts announced that the son of team president Bill Polian has been named as the team’s Vice President and general manager. Chris Polian had been serving as the team’s Vice President of Football Operations for the past five seasons. ....more>>

  • Quick rematch: Colts travel to Houston looking to stay perfect
Can National Football League teams change what they do in just three weeks?
That’s just one of the big questions facing both the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans heading into Sunday’s AFC South clash at Reliant Stadium.

  • Tough-luck Texans stand in Colts’ way of clinching AFC South
As the Indianapolis Colts begin preparations for Sunday’s road trip to Reliant Stadium and a matchup with AFC South rival Houston, there is a lot to be playing for. The 10-0 Colts can clinch the AFC South title this week with a win over the Texans and if Jacksonville losses to San Francisco. And Indianapolis is shooting to tie the New England Patriots’ record of 21 straight regular-season victories. But both are big ifs, however.

  • Colts haven’t played as well as expected last four weeks, but wins count either way
Don’t tell the Indianapolis Colts that they’ve been lucky the last four weeks.
Yes, the Colts have posted close wins over San Francisco (18-14), Houston (20-17), New England (35-34) and Baltimore (17-15). And, no, Indianapolis hasn’t played as well — especially offensively — has it did earlier in the season.

  • South grad, Ravens' coordinator Cam Cameron nurturing another QB talent
You can call him the Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback guru. That’s how Ravens head coach John Harbaugh views former Terre Haute South two-sport standout Cam Cameron, who is in his second year of being in charge of Baltimore’s offense. He’s also the team’s primary quarterback coach.

  • Bethea wants to shake off injury to play Sunday
Injured Indianapolis Colts free safety Antoine Bethea wants to play Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts take on the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

  • With wild win over Patriots behind them, Colts prepare for tough test against Ravens
Now that New England Week has passed and the Indianapolis Colts remain as one of the National Football League’s two remaining undefeated teams, it’s time to move on and concentrate on Sunday’s road game with the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Colts keep finding ways to stay undefeated
In the wake of Sunday night’s nationally televised 35-34 come-from-behind National Football League win over the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts know that they’ll have their work cut out for them again this week.

  • Unblievable: Colts take advantage of Patriots' gamble to remain perfect at 9-0
Just call it the Miracle of Lucas Oil Stadium. Down 24-7 in the second quarter and trailing 31-14 with 14:18 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Indianapolis Colts defied the odds en route to a wild 35-34 come-from-behind victory over the New England Patriots Sunday night.

  • Amid plethora of injuries, Colts get good news Friday
The Indianapolis Colts have been hit hard by the injury bug in recent weeks — losing cornerback Marlin Jackson (knee), strong side linebacker Tyjuan Hagler (bicep) and strong safety Bob Sanders (bicep) for the season while cornerback Kelvin Hayden (knee) and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez (knee) are out indefinitely.
