PARIS, IL — “Welcome to Moe’s!” will soon be heard on the streets of Terre Haute when Moe’s Southwest Grill opens Thursday at 2828 S. Third St.

Ranked the No. 1 Mexican food concept by leading research group Technomic in 2013, Atlanta-based Moe’s serves made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment.

To celebrate the new restaurant, Moe’s will offer $5 burritos on opening day. In addition, 30 percent of grand-opening sales will be donated to Terre Haute South Vigo High School.

The new Moe’s is owned and operated by franchisee Harkavel Singh, who recently signed a five-unit deal to bring Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurants to various parts of the Midwest. Singh plans to open two additional Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurants in the Terre Haute area, as well as two restaurants in Champaign, Ill.

“Residents in nearby towns have taken a liking to Moe’s and I believe the Terre Haute community deserves to experience our fresh, made-to-order food in a one-of-a-kind, fun, family friendly atmosphere,” Singh said. “I’m eager to open the doors so guests here can make Moe’s Southwest Grill a part of their community.”

All meals, including signature menu items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and salsa and made right in front of the customer. While Moe’s is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of more than 20 ingredients, the menu also features kid’s, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-friendly options.

Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle soda fountain. The fountains are touch-screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands — including more than 70 diet or low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands offered nowhere else, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.

The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, call 812-234-6637 or visit
