The Indiana Department of Homeland Security honored counties across the state at the annual Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana Conference in Indianapolis.

Each county was scored in an Emergency Management Agency assessment. County EMAs were scored on their preparedness and response capabilities, plan development, partnerships with other counties and several other criteria. The scores then determined the top county and the most improved county emergency management programs in each of the state’s 10 districts.

All counties were scored using the same criteria. Each district had a top county and a most improved county.

Parke County with director Amy Hensley was named a top county and Greene County with director Roger Axe was named a most improved county.
