ON THE MOVE: Sept. 2, 2012

Dr. Edward Rico has joined the Union Associated Physicians Clinic healthcare team as the newest member of the Endocrinology Department.

Dr. Rico earned his medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine Internal Medicine, Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He also completed fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. He is board eligible in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He also is a certified clinical densitometrist by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. His clinical interests include diabetes, thyroid disease, thyroid cancer and osteoporosis.

“I’m excited to be entering clinical practice in Terre Haute, which like many areas of the country is underserved by endocrinology health professionals. I’m looking forward to providing support of diabetes, thyroid, osteoporosis and other endocrine issues by working closely with other physicians in the community to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.”
