Group selling canvas prints to raise funds
The Festivals & Events Action Team of Martinsville on the Move has begun selling canvas prints to fund the Action Team’s projects, including programming for the Linn Park Amphitheater and the Heritage Days Festival, which takes place in June.
Each print can either be finished in gallery wrap, which wraps the picture around the frame, or museum wrap, which has a border of white or black, or any color chosen to match a color in the photo. The print sizes range from as small as 6- by 6-inch to as large as 32- by 48-inch.
Mustard Seeds and Accents in downtown Martinsville, Ill., have offered space to the committee to display canvases. Brochures can be obtained at either shop and orders can be placed there, by contacting Brenda at bklittle@
gmail.com or by calling 217-232-3232 for an appointment. Gift certificates are also available. To place an order, the Action Team needs an original (no professional photographs) digital photo (saved in jpeg format) either on a disk, or emailed to them. They also will offer to scan old photos into digital files. In addition, the Action Team has many original photos that can be made into prints. Delivery time is approximately one week from date of order. The prints can be shipped anywhere in the United States and Canada.
IHOP offering ‘Scary Face’ pancake
As Halloween approaches, be very afraid — and also a little hungry — as participating IHOP restaurants bring back one of their most beloved traditions for kids: the “Scary Face” pancake joins the “Just For Kids” menu throughout October.
And as a special Halloween treat, on Oct. 31 participating IHOP restaurants will offer kids 12 and under a free “Scary Face” pancake.
Kids can make it into as scary — or as funny — of a face as they want.
Chamber planning monthly luncheon
The Greater Clinton Chamber’s monthly luncheon is scheduled for noon Tuesday inside Terra Villa Restaurant (322 N. Ninth St.).
The featured speaker will be Rod Dowell, who serves as Corporate College account executive for the Wabash Valley. Dowell will be discussing what Ivy Tech Corporate College can offer in the area of workforce training, development and solutions.
Chamber members, business owners and the public are encouraged to attend. Luncheon meetings of the Greater Clinton Chamber of Commerce are the second Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.
