Hamilton Center Inc.’s addition of Dr. Bill Nunn, program manager, and Clayton Sparks, addictions counselor, will extend services and allow its Owen County office to assist more consumers.
Nunn earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Miami University in 1987. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Des Moines Child Guidance Center in 1984-1995 and was faculty at the University of Tennessee Medical School, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from 1985-1995. He joined Hamilton Center in September 1995 and has worked as a therapist and a program manager since that time. His research interests include Treatment Outcome Studies, Child Development and Personality and dealing with stress and anxiety. He is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, the Indiana Psychology Association, and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
Sparks began working in social services more than 15 years ago, working mainly with consumers diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Through that work he discovered an interest in addictions therapy and has worked in prison, jail and other correctional settings. Sparks also has outpatient and hospitalization experience in scenarios with both adult and adolescent consumers. Sparks is nationally and state certified as an addictions counselor and is currently seeking professional development certification to add to his credentials eating disorder counseling. Although a large portion of his experience has been in addictions, Sparks has experience with other behavioral health issues and enjoys working with clients from various backgrounds.
