Workshop on employment for disabled veterans

TERRE HAUTE — Wabash Valley Business Leadership Network will present a workshop on “Employment Resources for Veterans with Disabilities” from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Community Conference Center, Room 223, Federal Hall at Indiana State University.

This business-to-business interactive workshop will offer perspectives of disabled veterans and employers on employment. Common obstacles, opportunities and strategies to maximize disabled veterans in the workplace will be covered. Employers and veterans are encouraged to attend.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. There is no charge to attend; however, reservations are needed and can be made at www.indstate.edu/blumberg/upcomingevents.htm.

A light breakfast will be served.

Presentations will be by Marcy Hintzman, assistant director, Compliance and Disability Services, Office of Institutional Equity, Purdue University. A representative from the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs also will speak.

Also presenting will be Michael Caress, Veteran’s Services coordinator, Veteran’s Resource Center at Indiana State University, and Walter Padgett, veterans representative at WorkOne.

Federal Hall is at 30 N. Seventh St.
