Discrimination workshop set

TERRE HAUTE — A new workshop from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce provides the opportunity to experience what it may be like in a courtroom situation for employment discrimination.

“A Mock Trial of an Employment Discrimination Lawsuit,” presented by Jackson Lewis LLP, includes opening statements, witness testimony, closing arguments and jury deliberations on April 25 at the Indiana Chamber’s conference center in downtown Indianapolis, 115 W. Washington St., suite 850S.

There also will be a discussion of the trial and guidelines on how to be better prepared on the witness stand.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the “trial” and information session from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $199 per person for chamber members and $229 for non-members. A second registration is half price. Lunch will be provided.

The workshop is part of the 2013 Human Resources Training Series and is sponsored by IndianaINTERNnet. It also is part of the chamber’s human resource specialist certificate program; attendees will receive a half credit toward completion of the program.
