Rockville Library to host ‘Queen of Free’

The Tribune-Star

TERRE HAUTE — Queen of Free Cherie Lowe will speak at 6:30 p.m. June 17 at Rockville Public Library. Her program will enlighten the public on how to use coupons wisely and where to find the best deals.

Lowe believes that everyone should have an alter ego. Hers — the Queen of Free — was adopted in 2008 with Queenoffree.net to share freebies, strategies for everyday saving and inspiration to those who were pursuing a debt-free life.

From 2008-2012, Lowe shared her family’s personal “debt-slaying journey.” The “Royal Family” paid off a whopping $127,482.30 and are officially debt-free.

In fact, Sallie Mae owes them 32 cents, and they are still a little bitter. A true home economist, Lowe believes that something can come from nothing and that there’s always a way to simplify your life and budget.

She appears weekly as a savings expert for WTHR (Indianapolis) and has been featured in the national publications The Wall Street Journal and All You Magazine.

Her family’s story has been included on noted websites like Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Shine, Babble, Family Circle and DaveRamsey.com.

This is a free event. No reservations are necessary. The library is at 106 N. Market St.
