TERRE HAUTE — Carolyn Sutton, a licensed clinical social worker at Paris Community Hospital/

Family Medical Center, was re-elected as president of the Council of International Fellowship-USA at the organization’s 30th biannual conference June 3–7 in Ankara, Turkey. This is Sutton’s second consecutive term as CIF-USA president.

As president of CIF-USA, Sutton represents the United States, which is one of 30 national branches worldwide. More than 30 countries have established national branches throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North American, South America and Oceania. Sutton’s focus as president is to increase membership by encouraging Americans to participate in CIF programs around the world.

Sutton has been a member of CIF since 1985 and is a former vice president of CIF-USA. At PCH/FMC, she provides psychosocial assessments for inpatients and responds to emergency referrals. She also provides one-on-one psychosocial interventions to patients in the Oncology/Infusion Clinic and conducts monthly support groups.

The Illinois Funeral Directors Association honored F. Edward Pearce of Marshall, Ill., as a 40-year licensee of funeral service at a June 25 convention in Springfield. Pearce was recognized for his contribution to funeral service and to the Illinois community.

More than 40 licensees were honored for being licensed in the funeral profession for 40 or 50 years.

Rockville Correctional Facility’s Promoting Positive Correctional Culture committee selected nurse Kathy Sampson as employee of the month for June.

To be selected, employees must be nominated by one or more supervisor or peer.

Sampson is an employee of Corizon Inc., a health care entity contracted by the Indiana Department of Correction to provide health care services to offenders.

Sampson’s name will be added to a plaque at the facility entrance, acknowledging her achievement.
