Sullivan County resident Robbie Marshall has been promoted to chief internal affairs officer at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle. Marshall began his career as a correctional officer 1994, then advanced to correctional sergeant in 1997. In 1999 he was appointed WVCF assistant Security Threat Group coordinator (gang activity). In 2002 he was named facility STG coordinator. For several months in 2011, Marshall served as the acting statewide Indiana Department of Correction STG coordinator. Marshall has worked as an internal affairs officer the past five years focusing on STG related cases and criminal investigations. Marshall has been featured in numerous national television productions including the Supermax series on Discovery and MSNBC Lockup/Wabash.

Hamilton Center Inc. board of directors welcome HealthNet President/CEO J. Cornelius “Jimmy” Brown. Brown retired as a lieutenant colonel from the Air Force in 1992 after a 20-year career in health and hospital administration. He has a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in health care management from the University of North Dakota and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from North Texas State University. Brown also has served as vice president of corporate services and community affairs at Swope Health Service in Kansas City, Mo., as well as president and CEO of Dallas Southwest Medical Center in Dallas.

Wakefield Property Holding LLC on Feb. 1 acquired Cheaper Hooker Towing & Recovery of Terre Haute.
Jeremiah Peters, named as the new president, will be in charge of the day-to-day operations. The company will continue to do business in Terre Haute.

Solutions created by MillerWhite Marketing for seven of its clients have won 11 awards in the 10th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards competition. The awards are for interactive, audio/video and print creative for clients in the education, nonprofit and financial industries.

The SIAA award competition began in 2003 to recognize advertising excellence in the service industry. A national panel of judges reviewed this year’s nearly 2,000 entries from more than 400 firms for execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal and overall breakthrough advertising content.

Sony DADC in Terre Haute is among six companies selected by Ivy Tech Corporate College for its annual Corporate College Partner Award.
The recipients are selected based on the level of commitment by the organization in workforce training/development programs, the adoption by the organization of standardized and portable workforce credentials, utilization of assessments in the hiring of new workers and determining worker skills gaps, organizational commitment to financially supporting their workforce in acquiring additional skills and education, creating and implementing internal career pathways, as well as creating an ongoing partnership with Ivy Tech Corporate College for continuous improvement and development of programs and services.
Sony was selected due to the company’s emphasis on training and development programs to increase the skills of employees at all levels. In turn, Sony enlisted the services of Ivy Tech to assist them in making better hiring choices. In collaboration with Ivy Tech Corporate College, Sony has structured career pathways with specific academic plans in order for employees to become eligible for higher positions. Sony sees their workforce as their most valuable resource and is willing to continue to improve an educational and training strategy to further develop and retain them.
