TERRE HAUTE — Old National Bank has promoted Howard Mills to vice president, mortgage loan originator. Mills has served in mortgage lending at Old National for seven years, and his office is at 701 Wabash Ave.

Mills attended Indiana State University and has 10 years of experience in mortgage lending. He was named 2013 Five Star Mortgage Professional for excellence in customer service. In the community, Mills is a volunteer for Junior Achievement.

Lynda Smith, a Terre Haute realtor has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, the largest not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Realtors who receive the CRS designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Fewer than 32,000 realtors nationwide have earned the credential.

Smith is a broker sales associate with Prudential Newlin-Johnson Realtors in Terre Haute, working with home buyers and sellers for more than 18 years. She is a member of the Terre Haute Area Association of Realtors, serving on the board of directors and executive committee.

Katie McGaughey has joined Indiana Youth Institute as the West Central Indiana field representative. McGaughey brings services and trainings to youth workers in 12 counties, including Benton, Clay, Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo, Warren and White.

McGaughey has a master’s degree in social work for the University of Southern Indiana and is a licensed social worker. Prior to joining IYI, McGaughey worked as a student support adviser in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp., educating students on post-secondary education and career options. She also worked at Lincoln Hills Development Corp. as a family prevention consultant, helping children aging out of foster care.

McGaughey lives in Crawfordsville with her husband and son.

The IYI promotes the healthy development of children and youth by serving the institutions and people of Indiana that impact their well-being.
