TERRE HAUTE — The excitement is building! The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s 100th Annual Meeting is just 10 days away. More than 750 businesses and individuals will be attending. American Entrepreneur Bill Rancic, also known as Donald Trump’s original Apprentice, will be delivering an insightful and dynamic keynote address. We will recognize our four award winners: Business A Level Above, Vision A Level Above, ATHENA Leadership Award and Young Leader of the Year. Seats and tables are still available but those interested need to call the Chamber office as soon as possible at 812-232-2391 or visit www.terrehaute to register.

While the 100th Annual Meeting is the premier event of 2013, the Chamber has a number of additional events that will be conducted from September through the end of the year. On Sep. 13, Indiana Superintendent of Public Education Glenda Ritz will be the guest speaker at the first Education Breakfast. The breakfast event begins at 7:30 a.m. and will be at the Ohio Building in downtown Terre Haute.

Also, Sept. 17-19 the Chamber will be conducting its annual DC Fly-In. A Terre Haute delegation will be meeting with Indiana’s Congressional Delegation on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday the delegation will then be part of the State Chamber’s Fly-In. Organizers will be highlighting a number of important issues facing Terre Haute with the delegation; these include the Rural Health Innovation Collaborative, the Terre Haute International Airport/Unmanned Ariel Vehicles, transportation infrastructure improvements for Terre Haute/Vigo County and workforce development issues.

On Oct. 11 (the actual 100th anniversary of the Chamber’s incorporation) the Chamber will be having its annual planning conference. In 2012 more than 60 members spent the day helping the Chamber develop its values and strategic initiatives. We hope to see even more members involved this year. Be looking for more information in the near future.

Planning is now under way to schedule a Hero’s Luncheon during October. In November we are planning a breakfast to recognize our member nonprofits. December will bring us our annual Schmooza Palooza Business After Hours. Please stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
