Greta Davis has been named to the position of Sous Chef at J. Ford s Black Angus Restaurant. Davis is a 2006 graduate of Purdue University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in apparel design. She received an associate’s degree from the distinguished culinary program at The Art Institute of Indianapolis. Prior to joining J. Ford’s Black Angus, Davis worked for Macaroni Grill, Inc. in Indianapolis from 2008 to 2010 where she quickly moved into their management training program before graduating from The Art Institute.
Davis is a long time resident of Terre Haute and is a Terre Haute North Vigo High School graduate. She was initially hired at J. Ford’s Black Angus in August of 2010 as a line cook before being promoted to grill cook and now to sous chef.
J. Ford s Black Angus was established in 2007 and is at 502 S. Third St. in Terre Haute.
Harrison College announced recently the hiring of three new associates at its Terre Haute campus. Nick Rentschler and Lisa Brown are joining the Financial Aid Team, and Brandy Burris has been hired as a student affairs specialist.
Rentschler is a Terre Haute native, who holds a master’s in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana State University. He is a member of the Terre Haute Exchange Club, Terre Haute Young Leaders, Maryland Community Church and Terre Haute Senior Baseball League. He has taught business courses as an adjunct faculty member for one year at the Harrison College Terre Haute campus and is thrilled to step into his new role.
“I’m excited to be able to combine my out-going personality and my business education to help individuals realize their dreams of continuing their educations,” Rentschler said. “I know from personal experience that going back to school is stressful. I am glad that I ll be able to help relieve some of that stress from other students and help them to be successful so that they can concentrate on having meaningful educational experiences here at Harrison College.”
Brown is from West Terre Haute. She is a Harrison College graduate and holds degrees in business management and accounting. She will operate the Harrison College Terre Haute bookstore and work with students on their financial aid packaging.
“I am Harrison College s biggest advocate,” Brown said. “I love it here. Despite the economy and the expense of college, I think everyone should get a college degree. We work hard in financial aid to make it as affordable as possible.”
Burris is a graduate of Harrison College and holds a degree in associates of applied science. She previously worked at Harrison College as an accounting assistant. She left Terre Haute in 2007, but recently moved back while her husband serves in Afghanistan.
“The students are why I am here,” Burris said. “If they need help, I am the go-to person. I’ll be able to help them find the resources they need to be successful and help them connect to the right faculty and staff to be sure their needs are met. I’m also going to get the students involved. We have a lot of fun activities for the students like cook-outs and workshops. I’ll also help them to get involved in community events. I think it’s important to get out there and [be] involved in the place that you live.” Burris is involved with the Military Task Force, which is an organization providing assistance to members of our armed services and their dependents.
Terre Haute Savings Bank announces that Brian Dyer recently joined the bank as vice president and trust officer.
Dyer is a graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in urban and regional studies. Prior to joining THSB, Dyer worked at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology since 1982, where he had several positions. Since 2008 he served as the executive director of alumni affairs.
Dyer is a member of TREES Inc. and Council for Advancement and Support of Education, District V.
