TERRE HAUTE — An Indiana Chamber of Commerce seminar to provide Indiana companies with the latest information on employment law guidelines is set for April 16. Employment law is a broad topic encompassing a variety of issues, such as age or race discrimination, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and social media involvement.

The Indiana Chamber’s 19th Annual Employment Law Seminar will be from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the organization’s conference center in downtown Indianapolis, 115 W. Washington St., suite 850S.

Topics to be covered include recent developments under both the National Labor Relations Board and FMLA, handling U.S. Department of Labor audits, potential impacts of the comprehensive immigration reform, steps to be taken in regards to the health care reform and the essentials of background checks and pre-employment screenings.

The cost is $299 per person with the Indiana Chamber member discount, and $329 for non-members. A second registration will cost half the price. Lunch will be provided.

The conference is part of the 2013 Human Resources Training Series. It is also part of the Indiana Chamber’s human resource specialist certificate program; attendees will receive one credit toward completion of the program.
