Ivy Tech Community College has selected John M. Murphy to serve as president of the Ivy Tech Foundation and senior vice president for the Community College. His appointment was effective April 1.

In past years, the Ivy Tech Community College president also served as president of the Ivy Tech Foundation. Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Murphy recently retired from a 40-year career as an insurance executive. He most recently served as managing director of Wells Fargo Insurance Services, the world’s fifth largest broker.

He is also heavily involved in community service and is chairman of Happy Hollow Children’s Camp, member of the Development Committee Member at St. John Vianney Church, and has held positions of vice chairman and chairman of the Indianapolis Metro American Heart Walk.
