Midwest Fiber Recycling acquires Data Management Services

TERRE HAUTE — Midwest Fiber Recycling has announced the acquisition of Data Management Services in Terre Haute on Dec. 20. The acquisition will combine DMS’ expertise with Midwest Fiber’s recycling capabilities. This merger will offer the greater Wabash Valley area additional recycling services, while giving businesses the opportunity to reduce the amount of materials being sent to the landfill. The companies’ combined capabilities will also lead to near- and long-term growth opportunities, creating more “green jobs” and diversifying the types of commercial materials that can be recycled.

Both Midwest Fiber and DMS are family-owned businesses that have provided recycling and waste reduction services for many years.

Midwest Fiber Recycling, in business since 1990, operates facilities in Illinois in Bloomington-Normal, Decatur, Springfield and Peoria, with a service area extending throughout the Midwest. The business also operates a confidential document destruction division and a food composting company.

Data Management Services Inc. began  providing commercial recycling services to the Wabash Valley in 1999. DMS expanded in 2003 to start providing commercial waste services to their customers, with an emphasis on providing alternatives to landfilling. The present facility is on Steelton Avenue.
