ON THE MOVE: Feb. 9, 2104

Dr. Tony K. Nasser, a board-certified cardiologist, will see patients twice a month at Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center as a visiting specialty physician.

Nasser, who is affiliated with Providence Medical Group in Terre Haute, specializes in treating conditions of the heart, including cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure and arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).

He will see patients in the PCH/FMC Visiting Specialty on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

Nasser earned his medical degree, performed his residency and completed a cardiology fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He then completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital, also in Indianapolis. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, vascular medicine and interventional cardiology.

He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Nasser has been in practice for 18 years.

Indiana State Police Trooper Michael J. Taylor has been reclassified to the position of detective. Taylor attained his new criminal investigation position through written testing and a competitive interview process. He now joins a complement of six other detectives, two crime scene investigators and one cyber crime investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Putnamville District. Taylor will primarily work criminal investigations in Sullivan County.

He graduated from Brownsburg High School and then spent four years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the Indiana State Police 68th Recruit Academy in December 2007, and was assigned to the former Terre Haute post patrolling primarily Sullivan County.

Taylor is an active member of two ISP specialty teams: Underwater Search and Recovery Team and the Tactical Intervention Platoon.
