Wells Fargo signs lease at 925 Wabash

Thompson Thrift Development recently signed a lease with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, for its new office building at 925 Wabash Ave., in Terre Haute.

Completed during the summer of 2012, the three-story, full-masonry structure has a footprint of 11,000 square feet, with a total of 33,000 square feet of leasable office space. Thompson Thrift Construction served as the general contractor for the project.

Wells Fargo will lease 5,779 square feet on the building’s third floor, joining existing tenants Old National Insurance and Emmis Communication (Hi-99, 105.5 The River).

Eric Wojak of Thompson Thrift Development served as the project manager and represented the landlord. Graham Summers of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant.

Parke Chamber plans annual dinner

The Parke County Chamber of Commerce will conduct its annual dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lusk Room in Turkey Run Inn at Turkey Run State Park near Marshall, Ind.

A two-entree traditional buffet dinner will be served. After dinner, the chamber will recognize the Parke County man, woman, organization and member of the year. A brief chamber business meeting will take place to conduct director elections.     

The Rockville Rotary Club will again join with the chamber for this meeting and is sponsoring the musical entertainment that will feature several young women singers from the Parke Players organization.  

There is a fee for the dinner and reservations should be made by noon Tuesday in the chamber office in the Old National Bank building at 105 N. Market St. in Rockville. For more information call 765-569-5565.

Company sells Rally’s to Checker’s

Sidal, Inc. has agreed to sell its Rally’s franchise operations to Checker’s Drive-In Restaurant Inc.

Sidal, Inc. was founded in 1987 by brothers Sid and Al Ruckriegel, with the opening of their first Rally’s franchise in Terre Haute. The success of this initial venture served as the cornerstone for their stores today throughout the state of Indiana and northeastern and central Illinois. Sidal, Inc. continues its business operations of 25 Papa Johns restaurants and 20 real estate properties, leased to Checker’s Drive-In Restaurant Inc.

“The sale of the Rally’s franchise operations was a decision that will provide business opportunities for both organizations,” said Al Ruckriegel. “Our company’s solid foundation of restaurant experience provides strong roots for future expansion and development.”

Checker’s Drive-In Restaurants Inc. is the largest double drive-thru restaurant chain in the United States and serves more than 2 million hamburgers a week. Foundation seeks grant applications

Old National Bank Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Old National Bank, is accepting applications for its current grant cycle.

The Foundation’s primary focus areas are community and economic development and education programs that address critical community needs.

The Foundation offers two competitive grant programs: community partnership grants and strategic grants.

The strategic grants program provides grants of $5,000 or more to eligible nonprofit organizations to support initiatives directly aligned with the funding priorities of the foundation, awarded twice per year. The upcoming deadline is Feb. 1.

The community partnership grants program provides  grants of up to $2,500 to eligible nonprofit organizations to support immediate project-based needs, accepted on a rolling basis.

In 2012, the Old National Bank Foundation awarded more than $800,000 to 134 nonprofit organizations in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

Carpet One of Terre Haute at 3551 S. U.S. 41, is offering a new digital magazine to its customers. The magazine — Beautiful Design. Made Simple. — features decorating tips and advice. The free magazine can be downloaded from the Apple App store.

Beautiful Design. Made Simple. will be published quarterly and feature new ideas and inspiration. Carpet One of Terre Haute’s goal is to provide customers with design tips and trends before, during and after purchasing flooring.
