Social Media, Disabilities, and Employment Protections webinar set for Nov. 14

A webinar titled Social Media, Disabilities, and Employment Protections is scheduled 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 14. The presenters will look at the emerging issue of social media in the workplace and the implications for job applicants and employees with disabilities as the lines between private and public information are blurred.

Although the webinar is free, registration is required to participate.

The presenters, Joe Bontke from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Erin Lawler, an attorney with the Texas Governor’s Committee for People with Disabilities, will explore the interaction between the rights of people with disabilities in the workplace and the growing influence of social media. With millions of Americans using social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to share information, the relations among applicants, employers, and employees are changing rapidly. What protections remain for people with disabilities as the line between private and public information becomes increasingly blurred?

Interested in Continuing Education Credits? The webinar provider is offering University of Illinois at Chicago CEU, CRCC, and a Certificate of Attendance for this session. There is no cost for the CE credits.
