At a Putnamville District post meeting on Jan. 29, the Indiana State Police recognized one of their own for 25 years of service to the department.

Master Trooper John D. Goldner was presented a certificate of achievement and a 25 years of service medallion, which will adorn his uniform, signifying his tenure.

Originally hired as a civilian motor carrier inspection officer in June of 1988, Goldner served in this capacity until his appointment to the 47th ISP Recruit School in June of 1989. After graduation from the ISP academy, Goldner was assigned to the former Terre Haute Post. During his time with the ISP, Goldner has served in various capacities, now as a road trooper patrolling Parke and Vermillion counties. Goldner is the recipient of two ISP Life Saving Awards and many letters of commendation.

A Vermillion County native, Goldner is a South Vermillion High School graduate, veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a 1984 graduate of the Indiana Basic Law Enforcement Academy. Goldner served as Clinton city police officer from 1983 until 1988.

Dr. Irving Haber has been awarded Specialty Board Certification in pain medicine.

This certification, in addition to Dr. Haber’s Board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation, demonstrates his determination to provide superior pain management to patients of the Wabash Valley.

In an effort to combat misuse and abuse of prescription pain medications, such as Vicodin, the FDA has proposed new restrictions that would change how such drugs can be prescribed.

To become specialty certified in pain medicine, physicians are required to take both a written and oral examination administered by the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Haber’s board specialty certification means that he voluntarily meets additional standards, beyond basic licensing, to promote higher quality of care and better patient outcomes.

Haber and his team of professionals specialize in creating individualized physical therapy and pain management plans to achieve successful results.
