TERRE HAUTE — Scott’s Custom Colors recently won a contest through Enterprise which entailed a $5,000 donation to a charity important to them. They have chosen to donate this money to Autism Speaks. A check presentation ceremony took place Thursday at the business at 3140 N. 25th St.

Bridges of Indiana’s intake specialist, Rick Spaulding, was to accept the donation that will go toward the 2013 Walk Now for Autism Speaks event which takes place on Sept. 21 at Wabash Valley Fairgrounds.

Terre Haute has become a leading force against the fight to raise awareness and find a cure for this confusing disorder which now affects 1 in 88 children in the United States.

Thompson Thrift Construction has been named to two of Multifamily Executive magazine’s 2013 Top 50 lists.

Each year MFE selects the country’s Top 50 companies in the categories of General Contractor, Renovators, Owners, Managers and Builders. The results are based on a nationwide survey.

The magazine placed Thompson Thrift Construction 12th on its general contractor top 50 list.

The company had 1,457 third-party multifamily starts in 2012, an increase of 210 percent over the previous year, according to the publication.

Thompson Thrift also was included on MFE’s top 50 builders list. With 1,459 multifamily units completed in 2012, the magazine ranked the company 33rd in the country in the category.

Thompson Thrift Construction was also featured in the article “Survival, Revival,” about the economic conditions facing general contractors that accompanied the top 50 listing in that category.

The article and lists appeared in the May 2013 issue of MFE.
