Regional Hospital strives to ‘Go Green’

Terre Haute Regional Hospital is employing technology that could ease the registration process for patients while helping the environment.

With new front office scanning technology, making copies of copies will be a process of the past. The improved process allows staff to scan high-quality, color images and obtain electronic signatures without visiting a copy machine. Documents are automatically uploaded into one convenient database and are immediately accessible to multiple departments within the facility, meaning less time on paperwork and more time to answer patients’ registration questions.

Other benefits of the technology are: electronic storage information for patients next visit; no more lost paper in paper shuffles; stored information helping prevent billing errors; reduced duplication of work and copies; and it is environmentally friendly.
