• The Indiana Division of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. named state Rep. F. Dale Grubb (D-Covington) “Legislator of the Year” during an awards banquet in Griffith.
The lawmaker was granted this distinction as a result of his work on House Enrolled Act 1767, legislation enacted in 2007 that saved the Ferguson Recreation Park from considerable expenses that were incurred as a result of missing tax filing deadlines. The law saved the Clinton Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and several other conservation clubs in the area several thousands of dollars.
“I am proud to have promoted an environmental cause that will allow my constituents to enjoy the Ferguson Recreation Park for years to come,” Grubb said. “Providing for this tax exemption gives the Izaak Walton League the opportunity to keep costs law and allows Hoosiers to enjoy nature to its fullest extent.”
In addition to his work on HEA 1767, Grubb shared pertinent information with the League’s Clinton Chapter on how to file for future tax exemptions.
The Izaak Walton League of America strives to maintain, protect and restore the soil, forests, water and other natural resources of the U.S. Members also promote opportunities to educate the public on natural resources for their enjoyment and wholesome utilization.
