John Deere dealership promotes salesman
With the ever-changing lineup of equipment and improving technology in the agricultural and lawn and grounds care industry, it is increasingly important to have qualified and knowledgeable personnel. Usually, the first encounter people have with a business is with the sales department.
That is why Wright Implement Company Inc., the John Deere dealer in Williamsport, Crawfordsville and Rockville, is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn Allison to the position of salesman for both lawn and garden equipment, and agricultural equipment. Shawn is a 1995 graduate of Seeger High School and has very capably served as a lead parts salesman for the past 11 years. Shawn’s product knowledge and his ability to communicate effectively with customers will be an asset for both the dealership and the customers they serve.

Bank names mortgage loan originator
Lori A. Stone has been promoted to mortgage loan originator with First Financial Bank. Stone, who joined the bank’s mortgage department in 1994, will continue to work from the main office in Terre Haute. Before coming to First Financial, she worked as a legal secretary in Florida.
A resident of Fairbanks, Stone graduated from North Central High School and is a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church.

United Way names resource director
Kathleen R. Barker has been named resource development director for the United Way of the Wabash Valley. In announcing the appointment, Jim Bertoli, United Way executive director, stated, “We are very excited about the addition of Kathy Barker to our staff as our resource development director. Kathy not only brings a wealth of experience, talent and knowledge to our United Way but also a genuine desire to come back to the Wabash Valley to make a difference.”
Barker will be responsible for managing all workplace campaign activities, including supervising community level work-place campaigns, analyzing trends and results needed to make decisions on strategies, tactics and goal setting, developing strategies to involve companies in campaign growth, playing a lead role in developing and implementing the annual campaign plan, developing new account and assisting with promotional projects and special events.
Barker responded to her new position by stating, “It is hard to express in words how excited our family is to be moving back to the Wabash Valley and to be joining the United Way team. To be a part of the future and growth of the community through the United Way is an amazing opportunity and truly an honor. I look forward to working with many of you in the near future in helping to keep the United Way strong in the Wabash Valley. In so doing, we can continue to help the many worthy organizations supported by the United Way so that they can continue to help the residents of the Wabash Valley.”
Barker comes to United Way from C.P. Morgan in Indianapolis, where she occupied the positions of marketing coordinator, Indianapolis marketing manager and corporate marketing manager over a six-year period of time. Earlier, Barker was the marketing coordinator for Lewellyn Technology in Linton. She is a graduate of Indiana University and Sullivan High School. Barker will assume her duties with United Way on July 2.

Manor names marketing manager
Sycamore Manor announces the appointment of Karen Burkeybyle as the new marketing manager. She attended St. Mary of the Woods College and has over 10 years experience in marketing retirement living. She recently relocated to Terre Haute from Indianapolis as marketing director for the Wabash Valley Senior Center. At Sycamore Manor, Burkeybyle is enjoying the return to retirement living, assisting older adults and their families with independent and assisted living needs. She is a member of Wabash Valley Healthcare Marketing Group, Continuity of Care, serves on the board of directors marketing committee for the Wabash Valley Senior Center, and is a member of the local Alzheimer’s Association advisory board. Burkeybyle looks forward to getting to know residents and staff at Sycamore Manor and becoming more involved in the Terre Haute community.
