Leadership Boot Camp slated for February, March

Special to the Tribune-Star

Clark County Development Organization is collaborating with the Cumberland County Development Organization to offer a Bi-County Leadership Boot Camp this February and March.

The objective of the workshop series is to help leaders in the county network, learn together, improve skills, increase tools in their leadership toolbox and contribute to their communities by helping to plan and implement strategies for improvement.

The sessions will take place every other week from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Locations will vary but will be shared between Clark and Cumberland counties.

Thursday, Feb. 12: Understanding Leadership Styles — Personality and Generational Differences (Casey).

Thursday, Feb. 26: Understanding Collaborations — Civility, Team Building and Conflict Management (Toledo).

Thursday, March 12: Understanding Community — Stakeholder Development, Identifying Assets, Issues & Opportunities (Marshall).

Wednesday, March 25: Understanding Strategy — Organize quickly and move ideas into action to start seeing results. We will use the Strategic Doing Model/Logic Models examples to begin work on or improve strategic plans for our counties (Greenup)

Organizations in the county are invited to send their president, executive director or chairman to all four workshops. However, if they can’t attend one of the sessions we strongly encourage the group to send an appropriate replacement. The workshop series will be a great chance to network with other leaders in the county, learn new skills and help Clark County move in a positive direction for years to come.

There will be a workshop series fee to cover the cost of materials, speaker fees and general administration.

Workshop series fee before Jan. 30 is $35 (early bird price).

Please make checks out to the Clark County Development Organization and mail to 15493 N. Highway 1, Marshall, IL 62441 with registration form.

Workshop series fee at the door Feb. 12 is $40.

RSVP before Jan. 30 by sending in the form, calling (217) 826-5422 or e-mailing tmacke@illinois.edu. The Clark County Development Organization would like to know who will be representing your organization on the four dates.
