TERRE HAUTE — City police have announced the arrest of a third person in connection with a violent death that took place Wednesday night at the intersection of Fifth and Swan streets near downtown Terre Haute.
Saturday morning, police arrested Joston L. Pentzer, 22, who was located in Montezuma in Parke County by the Montezuma town marshall’s office.
He was taken to the Terre Haute Police Department for questioning and subsequently arrested on an allegation of murder and an unrelated warrant.
Two other people have been arrested in connection with the homicide. In a news release issued Friday evening, police stated they have arrested Cody Morgan, 22, of Montezuma and Ashley Lynch, 21, of Terre Haute. Both suspects are facing murder allegations in connection with the case, according to the news release.
The victim in the case was identified as Steven L. Vicars-Goings, 29, of Terre Haute, said Shawn Keen, assistant police chief, criminal investigations division.
Vicars-Goings died from multiple head and chest trauma, according to Dr. Susan Amos, Vigo County coroner.
A witness told police an altercation took place before the death and that a vehicle was involved. The incident took place before midnight Wednesday night, according to police.
