TERRE HAUTE —
Samuel Chelanga of Liberty won his second straight national title, taking the individual men’s crown in the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships this afternoon at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute.
Chelanga, a senior from Kenya, becomes the 10th man in NCAA history to win back-to-back titles.
Finishing second was Stephen Sambu of Arizona and Luke Puskedra of Oregon took third.
In the team competition Oklahoma State repeated as champion. The Cowboys placed three runners in the Top 10.
