BREAKING: Vigo County Recorder Ray Watts faces felony charges

TERRE HAUTE — Vigo County Recorder Ray Watts, 60, was charged today in Vigo County Superior Court Division 3 with two felonies and one misdemeanor related to allegations of sexual harrassment brought against him by a Vigo County employee.

Watts was charged with stalking and official misconduct, both class-D felonies, and battery, a class-B misdemeanor.

He also is to have no contact with his accuser. Judge David Bolk has recused himself from the case.

Watts's next court date is March 30. He is being booked into the Vigo County jail under $5,000 bail with 10 percent allowed.
