TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Board has withdrawn the $4 million bond request from tonight's agenda at the Terre Haute City Council meeting.
Board President John Wright indicated the reason "is to allow the board the opportunity to explore alternate funding for the project."
Six of the nine council members had told the Tribune-Star they planned to reject the 10-year bond request. It would have created a slight annual tax increase, amounting to $4.03 for a resident owning a house assessed at $50,000.
