TERRE HAUTE —
Glenden Campbell, 78, is safely above ground after being rescued this morning, when he became stuck in his home’s water well. Emergency responders were called to the house along U.S. 40 near Tabortown Road to aid Campbell, who was down in the well for about an hour before being pulled out.
Campbell had descended into the water well to take out a water pump when his foot became stuck. Emergency responders from Sugar Creek and Seelyville fire departments and Vigo County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the rescue. An ambulance was on standby at the scene.
