After receiving multiple overnight tips from the public, Indiana State Police detectives and FBI agents have arrested two Terre Haute men for allegedly robbing the First Financial Bank branch in Farmersburg on Monday.
Kenneth E. Shelton, 43, is suspected of entering the bank and demanding money from a teller. He was arrested today at the home of a friend on Wilson Street in Terre Haute and is currently being held in the Sullivan County Jail.
Also arrested was Ryan M. Ellinger, 20, suspected of driving a getaway vehicle. He was arrested at his place of employment on Crawford Street in Terre Haute.
Shelton and Ellinger each have been preliminarily charged with one count of robbery.
The FBI and State Police received numerous community tips after local media outlets showed bank surveillance photos of the robbery.
ISP detectives have recovered a significant amount of evidence in related to this case, but the actual items cannot be publicly released.
Officers from the Terre Haute Police Department and FBI Safe Streets Task Force assisted with the investigation.
