TERRE HAUTE — Downtown Terre Haute got a noisy shock late this morning.

A motorist backed her Pontiac G6 through the store-front windows of Mic’s Pics and the Blu Katt Lounge on Wabash Avenue in the heart of the city.

A customer of Mic’s, at 667 Wabash Ave., was attempting to parallel park when another motorist honked at her, causing the customer to accidentally hit her accelerator. Her vehicle then jumped the curb, traveling onto the sidewalk and into the front windows of the photography shop and the night club.

The customer, when honked at, believed she might be about to hit someone or be involved in an accident, said Mic Orman, co-owner of Mic’s.

“Thank God no one was walking down the sidewalk,” said Larysa Orman, who had been standing near the front window of her shop moments before the crash.

“It sounded like a stack of glass breaking, only it just kept breaking,” Larysa Orman said. “It was very loud.”

No one was injured in the incident, which took place at about 11:15 a.m.

Terre Haute police responded to the scene.
