Rally to honor the fallen Nov. 11 at The Woods
For the third consecutive year, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College will participate in the Remembrance Day National Roll Call project to honor American service men and women from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Veterans Day, in the Rooney Library.
Warhol Foundation donates six prints to Indiana State
The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has donated six prints by the pop artist to the Indiana State University Permanent Art Collection.
The prints complement the Warhol Foundation’s 2008 donation to the university of 154 Warhol Polaroids and black and white photographs.
‘In your face … high energy’ show coming to Hatfield Hall

McGlone to perform Nov. 8, 20 in Oilfield
Marie McGlone, a 16-year-old from Marshall, Ill., earned first-place honors once again in the 11-to-19-year-old division of the Illinois State Fiddle Contest. She was awarded a first-place trophy, a commemorative traveling trophy/plaque and $100.
Dr. George Mitchell’s books now available for purchase at Marshall Public Library
Dr. George T. Mitchell, or “Dr. George” as he was known in the area, was a well-loved physician who practiced nearly 60 years in Clark County, Ill., before he retired in 2005 at age 92. Friends of Marshall (Ill.) Public Library have both of Mitchell’s books for sale at the library’s circulation desk for $16 each.
Fall Choral Showcase at ISU Nov. 8
The Indiana State University School of Music will present the Fall Choral Showcase Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the University Hall Theater.
The free concert will feature three choral ensembles.

College announces Jones story winner
Each year, the James Jones Literary Society, along with Lincoln Trail College, gives a $500 Creative Writing Award to the best short story entry. This award is to continue the recognition of Jones’ collection of stories, “The Ice-Cream Headache,” by encouraging those 18 or older who are residents of Crawford or Clark counties to write their own stories.

Jackson Township Band to honor veterans Nov. 11
The Jackson Township Community Band will perform two concerts honoring America’s military veterans on Monday.
The performances will be at 10:15 a.m. in the rotunda of the Clay County Courthouse during the annual Veterans Day program. Clay County veterans groups will also be on hand with speakers and a color guard.
