Southern charm blended with some sass, wit and a woman’s view of the world’s quirks produce comedienne Chonda Pierce’s “Girl Talk.”
Music, cookies and Santa Nov. 23 at ‘Christmas at the Cecilian’
The Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra concert “Christmas at the Cecilian” sets the mood for the holidays with music, punch and cookies and a visit from St. Nicholas. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Saturday in Cecilian Auditorium at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
‘Real! Live! Reindeer!’ Dec. 6 at Vigo library
Children are invited to visit the Vigo County Public Library from 4 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 to enjoy a free program featuring a real, live reindeer and other arctic animals.
Mouse House Dec. 7-8 at Washington High School
The Gamma Gamma chapter of Tri Kappa invites the public to its 41st annual House of the Christmas Mouse. The House of the Christmas Mouse, also known locally as the Mouse House, will take place on Dec. 7 and 8 at Booker T. Washington High School.
The Landing to feature comedian Tim Meadows Dec. 7
Tim Meadows will be featured in a night of laughs and fun at “Saturday Night Live at The Landing” Dec. 7 at The Landing at Fort Harrison, 3350 N. Fourth St. The bar will open at 6 p.m., appetizers will be served at 6:30 and the show will begin at 7.
Concert Nov. 22 at ISU to feature vocalists, visiting high school ensemble
The Indiana State University Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band will present a concert at 7 p.m. Friday in room 159 of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts. The Center Grove High School Ensemble and a vocal ensemble from Indiana State’s African Student Association will also be featured.
American Girl Christmas Tea Party set
Girls ages 6 and up can play old-fashioned games, taste festive holiday refreshments, do a simple craft and activity and hear a heartwarming story at the Marshall (Ill.) Public Library’s annual American Girl Christmas Tea Party. The party will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 21, on the second floor of Harlan Hall.
Paris school plans Dec. 7 holiday bazaar
Memorial Elementary School’s ninth annual holiday bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST on Dec. 7, at 509 E. Newton St., Paris, Ill. Admission is $1 for adults, which includes a ticket for door prizes; children are admitted free.
Clay theater to present dinner, show Dec. 5-7
Community Theatre of Clay County Inc. will present the Christmas production, “Christmas At The Lark: The Meaning Of Christmas,” on Dec. 5, 6 and 7. The performances will be preceded by a dinner buffet served at 6:30 p.m., with each show starting at 7:15.

Indiana author Ruth Ann Hanley will discuss her book, “No Pulling Back,” at Rockville Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 3. This is her first novel, told through the eyes of a dog.

Knights of Columbus plan Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 23
The Knights of Columbus annual Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in St. Mother Theodore Guerin Council 541 at 2221 N. 13th St.
The menu includes turkey, chicken, green beans, corn, potatoes and gravy, and rolls.

Lunsford to sign books Nov. 23 at Baesler’s
Writer Mike Lunsford will be signing copies of his newest book, “A Windy Hill Almanac,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Baesler’s Market, 2900 Poplar St. This is Lunsford’s fourth book. He also writes “The Off Season,” a human interest column, for the Terre Haute Tribune-Star.
Attend Indiana Arts Commission’s Web Café at Arts Illiana
The Indiana Arts Commission will host a statewide Web Café at 10 a.m. Dec. 5 to enlist public input on the next phase of the agency’s strategic plan. Arts Illiana will serve as the Terre Haute satellite location.
Tour to feature Marshall homes
This year’s Christmas house walk sponsored by the Clark County Historical Society is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 and will feature five Marshall, Ill., homes plus historic Harlan Hall.
Traveling NASA Exhibit makes sense of science at Marshall Library
“Here, There, and Everywhere: Science Through Analogy, Near and Far” is coming to the Marshall (Ill.) Public Library from Dec. 3-30. The library is one of only 30 sites in the country selected as an exhibition venue. This traveling display consists of a series of large image-based panels and supporting hands-on activities that connect Earth and planetary sciences and astrophysics with everyday phenomena.

Miracle on 7th Street to hit downtown Dec. 6
On Dec. 6, Terre Haute will celebrate the holidays with the annual Miracle on 7th Street event. Festivities include an open air marketplace, gallery openings, holiday music, a gingerbread house contest and more.
‘From … the Wabash to Tin Pan Alley’ Nov. 16
The Indiana Theatre at Seventh and Ohio streets will be the site of “From the Banks of the Wabash to Tin Pan Alley” on Saturday. The program will pay tribute to Paul Dresser, the region’s most famous songwriter and enthusiast for the Wabash River.
