‘Les Miserables’ tickets available Feb. 27
Tickets for Lincoln Trail College’s spring production of “Les Miserables” are now available to the public.
Performances of “Les Miserables,” written by Alain Boubil, Claude-Michel Schoenberg and Herbert Kretzmer, will be at 7 p.m. March 28, 29, April 4 and 5 in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater. In a break from tradition, there also will be two Sunday matinees, at 2 p.m. March 30 and April 6.
Sing Our Jingle winners announced Feb. 27
Winners in ISU Credit Union’s Sing Our Jingle Contest were Jonathan Boes, first place; Jennifer Turner, second place; and Solly Burton, third place. Cash awards were given to the top three places.
Paint ‘Spring Rain’ March 4 at Gaslight Colony
For over a year, Gaslight Art Colony has introduced painting to many groups of adults and children with a class called Canvas at the Colony. The next session, “Spring Rain,” will take place at 6 p.m. CST on Tuesday at the gallery, 516 Archer Ave., Marshall, Ill. The fee is $35 if paid in advance, or $45 at the door.

FACT fundraising breakfast set for March 8
The Fontanet Action Community Team will serve a fundraising breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon March 8 in the FACT team building at Fontanet.
St. Patrick’s Irish Dash walk/run March 15
The Irish Dash, now in its 11th year, is a 5K run/walk and a one-mile fun run down Ohio Boulevard in Terre Haute. This family-friendly event will take place on March 15. It serves as a fundraiser for the St. Patrick’s School class of 2015, and is part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebration at St. Patrick’s Church.
Be part of on-the-spot portrait exhibit March 14-16 at Indiana Historical Society
The Indiana Historical Society will offer its guests the opportunity to have their portraits both taken and incorporated into an on-the-spot exhibition with #300in3. The free event will take place March 14 through 16, from noon to 4 p.m. each day.
The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, home of the IHS, is at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.

‘Big Read’ features novel by author with Marshall connections
The Marshall (Ill.) Public Library is participating in the Wabash Valley Big Read, a Vigo County Public Library grant program.
The 2014 Big Read book selection, “The Magnificent Ambersons,” is a 1918 novel which won the 1919 Pulitzer Prize. The selection you may not recognize, but the author you may remember — Booth Tarkington.
