Halcyon to present international juried ceramics exhibition
“Contemporary Ceramics International Biennial — Clay and Context 2014” is on exhibit from April 4-26 in the Halcyon Art Gallery at Seventh and Ohio streets. An artists reception is 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 4. The first of three artist talks is April 5.
Kiwanis Club to host Chili Day April 8
The Kiwanis Club of Terre Haute will host its 20th annual Chili Day from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday in Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 12th and Mulberry streets. There also will be a silent auction of valuable items donated by local businesses.

Opry opens season April 5 with Lloyd Wood
Lloyd Wood and his band will open the eighth season of the Boot City Opry in Terre Haute at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Wood has performed one or more shows each year at the Opry since its initial opening in 2006 and continues to be one of the most popular performers at the Opry.

‘Vision For Ron’ poker run set March 29
A “Vision For Ron” Benefit Poker Run and Auction will be Saturday at Tecumseh Tavern, 129 Durkees Ferry Road, West Terre Haute. Ron Gibbons contracted Lyme’s Disease seven years ago and has developed severe visual impairment. He is facing at least 11 surgeries to try to save his vision.
