Clinton Optimists plan June 13 golf tourney

---- — The Breakfast Optimist Club of Clinton is planning its 21st annual Charitable Golf Tournament for June 13 at Matthews Park Golf Course in Clinton.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support youth programs sponsored by the Clinton Optimist Club. These programs include spring and fall soccer, flag football, Optimist youth clubs, bowling, essay contest and high school leadership workshop.

Entry fee is $45 per person; $30 for Matthews Park season ticket holders. Entry fee includes green fees and cart, lunch, beverages all afternoon, and a chance to win several skill prizes. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The tournament is a scramble format and will be limited to 13 teams. Golfers can put their own team together or the club will put individual golfers on a team. Participants must be age 21 or accompanied by someone over 21.

Individual and business hole sponsors also are available for a $25 fee. For this fee, a sign with the sponsor’s name will be displayed at one of the holes during the event.
