Ice Cream Social for Habitat is Saturday

News Release

TERRE HAUTE — Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity is planning an Ice Cream Social from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Fairbanks Park at the Blumberg Shelter.

All proceeds will go toward the ReStore build project in Terre Haute. The project is Habitat’s first house built from proceeds from the ReStore, which is located at 19th Street and Wabash Avenue. Now through September all proceeds from ReStore sales will be used to help fund the build along with other fundraisers such as the Ice Cream Social.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization aimed at building houses with low-income families. The organization relies on volunteer labor to construct its houses.

All partner families are required to put in “sweat equity” hours and a cash down payment.
