News Release

TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra’s final subscription concert is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in Tilson Auditorium at Indiana State University. Under the direction of David Bowden, the program will include “Almost Like Being in Love,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Come Fly with Me,” “Bossa Nova Eyes,” “Night and Day” and other favorites. The March concert is sponsored by First Financial Bank.

Five by Design is a vocal quintet that has entertained American audiences with their swing renderings for nearly 20 years. For this concert, called Cool and Swingin’, they collaborate with jazz alto saxophonist Richie Cole, who played with Buddy Rich and on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. They will be accompanied by the instrumentalists of the orchestra.

Prior to the concert, audience members can attend Concert Conversations with Bowden in the Heritage Ballroom. The free talk begins at 6:45 and will include a discussion with Kurt Niska.

Concert tickets can be purchased at www.hulmancenter.org or www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
