Businesses open for First Friday on Nov 1

News Release

---- — Join businesses, galleries and organizations the first Friday of each month for a celebration of everything downtown Terre Haute has to offer.

Activities from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday will celebrate 2013 The Year of the River.

The Swope Art Museum, Terre Haute Children’s Museum, Vigo County Public Library, galleries, restaurants and businesses from Third to 14th streets and Cherry to Poplar streets will be open. Patrons can win prizes from downtown businesses by picking up a card at any one of the participating businesses. The card, when signed by each business, can then be entered in a drawing for prizes. Rain or shine there will be activities for children and adults.

Stop by the Vigo County Public Library from 5 to 7 p.m. for storytime with a river theme. River Wools will have several fiber artists’ works, based on river themes. Many others will have special displays, events, products and treats to share. This is another chance to enjoy an evening of art, live music and holiday shopping.
