Effingham Center bringing ‘Home for Holidays’ show

EFFINGHAM, Ill. — “Home for the Holidays-American Big Band” is bringing all-time Christmas favorites from Bing to Buble to the Effingham Performance Center at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19.

A giant wreath serves as the center entrance supported by an oversized Christmas trees surrounded by gifts of the season, which are also creatively used as “playing levels” for the show.

An 11-piece big band along with eight outstanding singers and dancers fill the stage with majestic and lush arrangements of Christmas favorites.

The presentation is part of the 2013-2014 Effingham Performance Center season sponsored by Heartland Dental Care. All events are presented in the newly named Midland States Bank auditorium.

Effingham Performance Center is operated by Arts Connection of Central Illinois, a not-for-profit organization.

Tickets for “Home for the Holidays” can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at Ticketmaster outlets or at the Effingham Performance Center, 1325 Outer Belt West, Effingham, during box office hours, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices range from $29 to $44.
