Cruise-in Street Dance in Rockville

ROCKVILLE — Again this summer, MainStreet Rockville will offer its Cruise-in Street Dance, combined with the Motorcycle, Scooter and Bike Show. The event is set for 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. June 1 on the courthouse square in Rockville. Registration will begin at 3 p.m. with a $10 entry fee.

Dancing to Chameleon Entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the People’s Choice Awards and the 50/50 drawing at 8 p.m. This marks the 22nd year for the Cruise-in Street Dance, which has offered countless hours of entertainment for young and old alike. Cars will enter from the southeast corner of High and Jefferson streets. Motorcycles, scooters and bikes will enter at the same spot and will be staged this year in the middle of High Street adjacent to the courthouse.

Dash plaques will be provided to the first 125 cars to enter the Cruise In. People’s Choice Awards will be given to the vehicle and motorcycle, scooter or bike garnering the most votes from participants. Some food vendors will be on hand for the convenience of attendees, and restaurants on the square will be open.

This marks the 16th year for the Motorcycle, Scooter and Bike Show. Bikes previously entered include Schwin, Western Flyer and John Deere and scooters highlighted in the past were Cushman and Doodle Bug, Allstate and Salisbury.

A rain date is scheduled for June 8.
