TERRE HAUTE —
A series of informal conversations called Art and River Chatter as part of 2013 Year of the River continues tonight.
Tonight’s event begins at 5:15 p.m. at Logan’s Rib Eye, 100 S. Fruitridge Ave.
The event will be sponsored by Art Spaces Inc.-Wabash Valley Outdoor Sculpture Collection and Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability continue
The topic for today’s discussion is: Have You Been on the River? How can we boat, walk, run, fish, bird watch along the Wabash — what are people discovering about the river through recreation?
Presenters Brendan Kearns and Kara Kish know the river and its banks in ways that the rest of us may not yet have discovered.
Kearns spends many hours traveling up and down the river on his boat and has many stories to share. Many people may be familiar with his photography through the 2013 Year of the River website and the Tribune-Star and Terre Haute Parks calendars that feature many of his photographs.
Kish is superintendent of Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department and is active with the development of Wabashiki Fish and Wildlife Area as well as many other initiatives.
People of all ages are invited.
The presenters will kick off the evening with images and ideas to get a conversation started. Beverages and food will be available for purchase from the menu.
