‘Cultivating Creativity’ in Paris

Children’s art on display at Carnegie Public Library

PARIS, ILL. — The “Cultivating Creativity 2012-2013: Consolidated Communications Children’s Art Exhibit” will be on display Tuesday through Aug. 4 at the Carnegie Public Library, 207 S. Main St., in Paris, Ill.

“Cultivating Creativity” showcases art produced through east-central Illinois school art programs, including work by 43 students, each representing a different school. The art was created during the 2011-2012 school year.

Students in the exhibit representing schools in the Paris area:

• Erica Buntain, seventh-grader at St. Mary’s School, “Happy Face Happy Place,” under the instruction of Christi McClain

• Kelsey Chambers, sixth-grader at Crestwood Unit 4 School, “Fish?” under the instruction of Mary H. St. Clair

“Cultivating Creativity” is sponsored by Consolidated Communications and the Tarble Arts Center, Eastern Illinois University. The exhibit will travel to 14 area communities.

Tarble and Consolidated participate in the annual program to raise awareness of the importance of including the arts as part of regular school curriculum.
