TH dance troupe to interpret ‘A Little Princess’ May 31, June 1

TERRE HAUTE — The Academy of Dance of Terre Haute, under the direction of Patti Willey, will stage its annual spring concert at 6:30 p.m. on May 31 and June 1 in Tilson Auditorium at Indiana State University.

About 300 students will tell the story of “A Little Princess” through ballet, tap, jazz, creative movement and modern dance.

Catie Duree, a Terre Haute North Vigo High School sophomore, will dance the role of Sarah Crewe, and Cameron Barnett, a student at Owen Valley High School, will dance the role of Captain Crewe.

Anne-Therese Ryan, a Terre Haute South Vigo High School senior, will dance the role of Miss Minchin and Sydney Twigs, also a senior at South, will be playing her sister, Amelia Minchin.

Deepa Namburi, a senior from South will portray Ayah. Other featured dancers include North senior Angela Hanson as Mrs. Carrisford and Amara Erickson as Riya Das.

Reserved tickets can be bought in advance at the Academy of Dance studio, 2000 S. Third St., or at the box office the day of each show. Tickets cost $18.
